Jammu and Kashmir: Encounter going on between security forces, terrorists in Baramulla

Baramulla: An encounter is currently going on between terrorists and security forces in Wanigam Bala area of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district on Saturday.

The gunfight broke out at Wanigam Bala village of Baramulla during a cordon and a search operation which was launched by a team of joint forces following an input about the presence of militants in the area, reports UNI.

As the cordon was being laid, the hiding terrorists opened fire which was retaliated upon by the security forces leading to an encounter," a security official said.

"Encounter has started at Wanigam Bala area of Baramulla district. Police and security forces are on the job.." a police tweet said.
