Jammu and Kashmir: DGP sanctions Rs 2.78 cr for special welfare relief, ex-gratia

Jammu: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 2.78 crore ex-gratia and special welfare relief for next of kin (NoK) of martyred/ deceased police personnel, a police spokesman said.

In a statement he added that the sanction was accorded vide different orders of police headquarters with its endeavour to provide financial assistance to the families of martyred and deceased police personnel.

Under an order Rs 38 lakh ex-gratia relief has been sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs of martyred police Inspector Parvaiz Ahmad Dar.

"Rs 20 lakh special welfare relief has also been sanctioned in favour of the NoKs of the said martyred Inspector,” the spokesman said.

He added that under another order of PHQ, the DGP has sanctioned Rs 20 lakh each in favour dependents and legal heirs of deceased police personnel ASI Noor Alam and others.
