Jammu and Kashmir: 8 militants killed in Uri

Uri, Sept 20 (IBNS): Indian security forces killed eight militants during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri town on Tuesday.

The incident occurred just two days after 18 soldiers were martyred  after four terrorists, believed to have crossed the border from Pakistan, sneaked into the Army camp located near the LoC in Uri and fired bullets after throwing grenades on Sunday.

The incident took place when most of the soldiers were asleep.

The army camp caught fire following grenade bursts.

The terrorists were also killed in the counter attack.

Meanwhile, Pakistani troopers violated ceasefire again on Tuesday in Uri sector, reports said.

According to reports, 20 rounds were fired from small arms at the Indian post. Indian force also retaliated.
