Srinagar, Apr 18 (IBNS) Authorities on Sunday evening restored Mobile internet services across the Kashmir Valley after four days.

The cellular internet services were suspended as a precautionary measure against the spread of rumours and tension following the civilian-army conflict that resulted in the killing of five people.

The clashes and firing by the army and police  took place after massive protests broke out over the alleged molestation of a local school girl in Handwara town. It was alleged that an army jawan had molested the girl.

Five civilians, including a woman, were killed in army and police firing in  Kashmir's Kupwara district.

Talking to IBNS, S.J.M. Gilani, inspector general of police (IGP) internet service, said the situation is now by and large peaceful and there has been no protests t since Sunday morning.
