Alijapur, Madhya Pradesh, Aug 9 (IBNS) : A day after being flayed by the opposition for maintaining silence over the Kashmir unrest, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday sought to reach out to the valley youths, saying, "India loves Kashmir. Only a handful of people have been misled and are hurting the great land of Kashmir."

"When Atal Bihari Vajpayee was PM, he had adopted Insaniyat, Kashmiriyat and Jamooriyat. We are his followers. I want to tell people of Kashmir that the Azaadi  that India feels, even Kashmir can have," he said while addressing a rally at Alijapur in  Madhya Pradesh.

"I invite young people of Kashmir to make Kashmir the Swarga that it is," said PM Modi, reaching out to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir amid concerns over the growing disenchantment among them and the rising number of locals from affluent families joining militancy.

Kashmir has been on a boil for about a month after Hizbul terrorist Burhan Wani's encounter death triggering protests and violence. About 50 people have so far died in clashes with security forces while a large part of the valley has been under prohibitory orders for more than three weeks.
