New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday said the Indo-Japan ties have deepened in every sphere as the two countries celebrate 70 years of establishment of diplomatic relations.

During Japanese PM Fumio Kishida's visit for the annual summit, India and Japan laid out a roadmap for deepening the special strategic ties in a post-Covid world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a tweet.

Tweeting in Japanese and English, the PM said that he looks forward to continue working with PM Kishida to realize the objective.

“As we celebrate 70 years of establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Japan today, I am happy to see that our ties have deepened in every sphere, whether strategic, economic or people-to-people contacts.

“The recent visit of my friend PM Kishida @kishida230 to India for the Annual Summit laid out a roadmap for deepening our Special Strategic and Global Partnership in a post-COVID world. I look forward to continue working with PM Kishida to realize that objective. #IndiaJapanat70.”

The Japanese PM made his first bilateral visit to India from March 19-20 to attend the 14th India-Japan Annual Summit with PM Modi.

PM Modi will go to Japan next month for the Quad Summit scheduled to be held on May 24.
