IIM Calcutta student alleges rape at boys' hostel amid uproar over Kasba incident
Kolkata/IBNS: A female student has been allegedly raped at the boys' hostel of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Joka in Kolkata days after West Bengal was roiled by the rape of a law student by three including a Trinamool Congress (TMC) functionary on the college campus, a report by Anandabazar Patrika said.
The accused, who is a second-year management student at the IIM Joka, has been arrested.
As per reports, the victim, who also studies at the institute, was summoned to the hostel on the pretext of counselling.
The complainant has alleged she fell unconscious after consuming some food and water served to her at the hostel.
Upon gaining consciousness, she found herself lying in the boys' hostel. The victim has alleged she was raped in the unconscious state, the daily reported.

The complainant said she had approached the Thakurpukur Police Station that had redirected her to Haridevpur Police Station. IIM Joka falls in the Haridevpur PS area.
She filed her complaint at the Haridevpur Police Station on Friday itself.
The alleged incident occurred days after a female student was raped by TMC functionary Monojit Mishra and two others inside the campus of South Calcutta Law College in Kolkata's Kasba area.
While Monojit is an alumni, the two other accused were the victim's batchmates.
The rape incidents emerged from the state in less than a year after a massive outrage broke out after an on-duty junior doctor was brutally raped and murdered at a seminar room in Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
