If image is proof, arrest PM for Sahara scam: Mamata

 

Mamata Banerjee herself joined the rally which was meant to be those by sportspersons and those associated with sports to support Madan Mitra. 

He said Madan Mitra will continue to be the Transport and Sports Minister. "For the time being I will oversee the department," said Mamata.

Mamata said there are images of several CPI-M leaders with chit fund owners and there are images of the PM with Sahara Chief. "Should we arrest the PM?" asked Mamata.

Trinamool Congress activists  hit the streets and blocked rail tracks on Saturday in protest of state Sport and Transport minister Madan Mitra’s arrest by the CBI.

 All senior Trinamool leaders have been asked to join the march to put up a strong fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government at the Centre.
 
Armed with tri-colour party flags, Trinamool supporters from different parts of Bengal took out rallies and converged at Esplanade-BBD Bag area in the heart of Kolkata.

 When Madan Mitra was being produced in the Alipur court on Saturday, the TMC activists shouted slogan and almost broke the cordon and tried to obstruct. Heavy security arrangements were made outside the court area to control any untoward situation.

 Sources said Mitra, who was ate the Electronic Complex police station on Friday night, was taken to the CBI office at Salt Lake CGO Complex at around 6.15 am for interrogation.
 
Reports said angry Trinamool activists also staged protests at various busy traffic intersections across the state. They demand immediate released of the minister from the CBI custody.

 Meanwhile, state’s principal Opposition Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M)-led Left Front demanded interrogation of chief ministerMamata Banerjee by the federal investigation agency in the ponzi meltdown.

 CPI-M politburo member Brinda Karat demanded that Banerjee’s role in the Saradha scam should be also investigated by the CBI.

The Left Front took out a march from Lenin Sarani with senior leaders and accused the Chief Minister of tarnishing the image of the state. Leader of Opposition Suryakanta Mishra, Sujan Dutta and other leaders participated in the march. 

The BJP said the chief minister is scared. 

"She is afraid," said BJP national secretary and West Bengal in-charge Siddharth Nath Singh.
