If BJP starts violence, Mamata Banerjee can't move across the country: BJP National GS Kailash Vijayvargiya

Kolkata, Jan 4 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya on Wednesday condemned the alleged TMC attack at party's West Bengal headquarter in Kolkata following Trinamool's Parliamentary leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay's arrest.

"Trinamool Congress (TMC) is ruling Bengal only and BJP will be found from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. If we start violence like TMC, Didi (Mamata Banerjee) can't move across the country and TMC MPs can't enter Delhi if we want to stop them," Kailash Vijayvargiya said, during a press conference here in Kolkata.

"As we believe in democracy, BJP will never do such violence and I request a senior politician like Mamata Banerjee to respect democracy and stop such violence," he added.

Vijayvargiya also said that his party will not stay quiet if Trinamool Congress continues such attacks on BJP offices and its leader-activists.

Complaining of police's non-cooperation during the attack, Kailash Vijayvargiya said, "Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, who was involved in destroying Saradha documents, did not take any step while our party office was attacked yesterday."

Hours after Sudip Bandyopadhyay was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with Rose Valley financial scam, a large number of Trinamool Congress (TMC) activists allegedly attacked BJP's Bengal headquarter in north Kolkata on Tuesday.

At least 17 BJP activists were injured and several cars, which were parked nearby, were vandalized due to the hour-long clash.

BJP leaders claimed that its several party offices and leaders' residences were allegedly ranscaked by the TMC supports in West Bengal.

Later, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were deployed to BJP Bengal headquarter to save the party office and activists inside it.

Besides holding a protest march here in Kolkata, BJP leaders also met Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi on Wednesday to complain the alleged TMC violence against them.
