IAF placement fair 2014 gets underway in Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 14 (IBNS): The seventh chapter of the Indian Air force Placement Cell (IAFPC) was inaugurated by the Chief of the Staff, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha on Friday at the Air Force Auditorium, Subroto Park, New Delhi.

The  two day affair has been organised by the IAFPC to provide placement opportunity to Air Force personnel who have  quit service.

IAFPC has had Memoranda of Undertaking (MoUs) with ICICI Bank and Monster.com for providing placement opportunities to the highly skilled Air Warriors.

The IAFPC also has a tie up with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) that has been instrumental in promoting retired air warriors into the corporate world in  a big way.

This has been made possible by the creation of a “trade equilisation chart” prepared by the IAFPC which explains the job proficiencies of an air warrior and the equivalent capabilities that he can be employed on in the civil sector.

This has enabled a few technicians of the Air Force to get employment in Bangalore Metro & Hyderabad Metro.

A large number of private as well as public sector undertakings had set up stalls at the venue to pick up the right talent.

The prominent names included HAL (Nasik Division), BDL, Reliance JIO, Muthoot Finance, Tata Power SED, HDFC Life, Havells, GE Corporate.  The Fair has generated considerable interest in the corporate sector as was evident  from the number of enquiries being received by the organisers.

The Placement Fair 2014 shall continue on Nov 15 and is expected to be attended by over 4000 air warriors.
