I urge PM to add images of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi on fresh Indian currency notes: Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to bring out new currency notes with the pictures of Hindu deities Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh.

"I am urging Prime Minister and the Centre to keep the picture of Gandhi ji on one side of the note intact and also add the images of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh in it," Kejriwal said.

"I am not saying old notes should be cancelled. Instead, this new step should be implemented in the new currency notes that will be published," he said.

He said this step is needed to get the almighty's blessings and hence settle the economic condition of the country.

He also mentioned the case of Indonesia where Lord Ganesh's image is printed on the 20,000 rupiah note.
