'I love you so much jaanu': Hasin Jahan to Mohammad Shami after court's maintenance expense order

Kolkata/IBNS: Indian cricketer Mohammad Shami has come under brutal attack from his estranged wife Hasin Jahan after the Calcutta High Court directed the fast bowler to pay Rs. 4 lakh per month to his spouse as a maintenance amount.

In an Instagram post, Hasin started off showering love on Shami but soon diverted to her rant against the top cricketer whom she also called "characterless, greedy, mean minded".

She wrote, "I love you so much, Jaanu. Will you ever find a wife like me, who upholds a relationship with such intensity? Don't worry, my love—until my last breath, I will maintain this strong relationship, Inshallah. But you have to decide what kind of strong relationship that will be! We've been involved in a legal battle for the past 7 years. What did you gain from it? Being characterless, greedy, and mean-minded, you destroyed your own family."

"The money you wasted on crooks and prostitutes—if you had instead spent it on our daughter’s education, life, and future, and given me a good life—it would have been so much better. You would have stayed away from sin, and we could have lived a respectful, good life."

"You took advantage of a male-dominated society and stayed happy that unsocial people sided with you and called me wrong.
I will take the help of the law and claim all our rights—and I will be happy, Inshallah. Now you decide—which support is better: social or legal?

"But remember, all those unsocial people who are giving you moral support now are only supporting your sins. The day your bad time begins, these very people will make your life miserable—Inshallah, have faith in that."

In 2023, a district sessions court had directed Shami to pay Rs. 50,000 to his wife and Rs. 80,000 to his daughter as maintenance fee.

Hasin challenged the order and moved the Calcutta High Court which days ago ordered Shami to pay Rs. 1,50,000 to his wife and Rs. 2,50,000 to his daughter.

Hasin had previously alleged that Shami continued to have extra-marital affairs with prostitutes, even when he was on tours with the senior national cricket team.

The Indian pace bowler vehemently denied all the allegations levelled by Hasin against him.
