Hyderabad/UNI: A fire broke out inside the under construction secretariat building here on Friday morning.

About 10 fire tenders reached the spot and doused the fire that started on the first floor of the multi-storey building.

No casualties were reported in the incident, according to police.

The incident occurred when arrangements were on war footing for the grand inauguration of the building on Feb 17 on the birthday of Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao.

The new secretariat named after Dr BR Ambedkar is being constructed in an area spanning about 7 lakh sq ft at a cost of Rs 610 crore.

The cause behind the first is yet to be ascertained.
