Hundred joined protest rally against ULFA (I)

Guwahati, July 19 (IBNS): More than hundred citizens of Assam on Sunday took out a protest rally in Guwahati to demonstrate their angers against the United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) militants who have been targeting the unarmed people of the state for many years.

Following the call of Patriotic People’s Front Assam (PPFA), people arrived in front of the Guwahati Press Club and started the protest demonstration.

The participants shouted various  slogans like ‘Punish Paresh Barua’, ‘ULFA (I) Murdabad’, ‘Militants’ Agents Hussiyar’, ‘Vande Mataram’, ‘Enemies of  India is Enemy of Assam’, ‘Enemies of Assam is Enemy of India’ and then marched on the streets of the city.

They also carried national tri-colour and a number of placards.

“We want to send a strong message to ULFA (I) leader Paresh Barua, who remains visible through some media outlets and continues disruptive activities including the killing of common people in Assam,” said in a statement of PPFA.

The Front argued that ULFA rebels are eliminating the Indian citizens in eastern Assam to make space for the illegal Bangladeshi nationals as a return gesture to the populous country, where once they took refuge.
It also asserted that the killing of people must be stopped in Assam at any cost.
