Guwahati, Dec 26 (IBNS): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday met the Army Chief Dalbir Singh Suhag reportedly asking for an all-out operation against the Bodo militants.

It was learnt from sources that the home minister told the Army Chief to strengthen coordination between the army and the state police. He also conveyed that the Centre wants results in Assam.

The army said it would intensify operations against the Bodo militants in the region. It also sent smaller teams to tackle violence between Bodos and tribals in the region.

Reports said the National Investigation Agency (NIA) will investigate the killings. Those who died in a series of militant strikes were mostly tribals who worked in tea gardens.
