New Delhi, Jul 8 (IBNS) A week after an accident involving Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and actress Hema Malini's car left a two-year-old girl dead, the actor and the child's family blame each other for the unfortunate incident.

In a series of tweets, Hema Malini has accused the child's father for not following  traffic rules which she says caused the accident.

On the other hand,  the father of the deceased child hit back at Hema Malini saying that the accident could have been averted if the actor's car was not over speeding.

He has also criticised the  actor for being 'busy' in blaming them nstead of inquiring about their well being.

"How I wish the girl's father had followed the traffic rules... this accident could have been averted & the lil one's life safe! (sic)," Hema Malini, who herself was injured in the accident  tweeted while sympathising with  he family of the  child who died on the lap of her mother as their Alto collided with the actor's Mercedes.

Hema Malini's driver was arrested the next day for over speeding and negligent driving. He, however, was released on bail.

Hema Malini also slammed lashed out at the media for maligning her image. "A few members of the public who had a field day maligning me even when I was helpless &in deep trauma who actually & unbelievably stooped to the lowest levels of human decency, I can only say "Shame on u" &"God Bless"!," she said in another tweet.

The actor thanked her supporters for their best wishes. The accident has shown me how much u ppl love me & care for my welfare. All my years spent in the entertainment field has brot so much goodwill, I'm amazed! Thank u all for this love for which I am eternally grateful! U have given me so much strength," she said.
