New Delhi, Jan 15 (IBNS) Hours after Kirab Bedi joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said he always wanted the former top cop-turned-politician to join 'politics'.

"I have been fond of Kiran Bedi ji. I always tried to convince her that she shud join politics. I am happy she did it today," Kejriwal said.

Bedi on Thursday joined the BJP in the national capital in the presence of party President Amit Shah and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and is all set to contest the upcoming Delhi Assembly Elections.

Bedi, who was earlier associated with Anna Hazare's anti corruption movement, is likely to be pitted against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi constituency in the Assembly elections.
