Gujarat: Water tank collapses, three dead

Ahmedabad, Aug 12 (UNI) Three people were killed and six others injured when an old tank collapsed in Bopal area of this district on Monday.

Collector Vikrant Pandey, who visited the spot, told media the tank, constructed by Bopal municipality in 1997, collapsed as the land at its base caved in. The debris of the tank also fell on a canteen on the same premises.

Four labourers were rescued of whom three died while another was admitted to civil hospital and is stated to be critical.

Three of them were brought dead, while six others are undergoing treatment, a doctor in the Sola civil hospital said.

According to the Collector, they were non-Gujarati labourers.
 
The mishap took place near Tejas school which received heavy rains last week.

Recently, four of a labourer family had also died due to wall collapse in Bopal area during massive rain.
