Gujarat: Fire at cracker shops kills 8

Vadodara, Oct 28 (IBNS): At least eight people were killed as a cracker shop caught fire in Gujarat's Vadodara district on Friday, media report said.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control.

Two others shops were also reportedly destroyed.

"The cracker stall was doing business near a tyre shop that is located below a house. The tyre stock caught fire causing panic among the residents and other locals. The victims got caught in fire and lost their lives," Waghodia police sub inspector, Yashwant Chauhan, was quoted as saying by The Times of India website.

The injured people were rushed to hospital for trreatment.
