Panaji, Mar 15 (IBNS): Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Sunday rejected reports that his government has dropped Oct 2, marked as Gandhi Jayanti, from the list of its official holidays.

He said his government has not taken any such decision.

Parsekar  told CNN-IBN, "My government has not taken any such decision. It could be a typing mistake."

The Chief Minister said, "Elections are going on and Congress can do any mischief. They have lost all grounds and that is why such things are being brought up."

Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated on October 2 to mark the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who is regarded as the  Father of the Nation.
