New Delhi, Mar 28 (IBNS) Speaking at Bloomberg India Economic Forum on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the central government is focused on creating durable assets that will benefit the people of India.

"We have focused on creating durable assets that benefit the population rather than the touts," he said.

Lauding his government for reduction in corruption, he said, "We have drastically reduced leakages in Employment Guarantee scheme & ensured that money reaches those for whom it is intended. Our record on implementation in general and reduction in corruption in particular is now well understood."

PM Modi hailed the petroleum sector and the major policy reform in the particular area.

He said, "Another major policy reform is in the petroleum sector. Under new Hydrocarbon Exploration Licensing Policy, there will be pricing & marketing freedom & transparent revenue-sharing methodology."

The Prime Minister also spoke about renewable energy and said that a new bill was passed in the Parliament, which will aid in sustainable and efficient development.

"Parliament has recently passed a new law on inland waterways which will enable rapid development of this efficient mode of transport," he said.
