Panaji, Jan 28 (IBNS): Campaigning in Goa, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the union territory has witnessed significant development for the past five years under the tenure of the BJP rule.

"Last 5 years have been years of development under the BJP state government. Goa did well in various sectors. This good work should continue," Modi tweeted.

"Goa government rightly focussed on tourism, creating infrastructure & opportunities that bring development to the state. @BJP4Goa," he said.

The Indian Prime Minister said: "People of Goa have not forgotten the corruption, misgovernance & instability under Congress rule. Development suffered greatly that time."

Goa will head for the state polls on Feb 15.
