Gernade explosion in Kashmir kills 1, injures 6

Srinagar, Dec 3 (IBNS): In a grenade explosion, a paramilitary personnel was killed while six other people were injured in Pulwama District of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, officials said.
Sources told IBNS that in the evening, guerrillas hurled a grenade on patrol party of Central Reserve Police force at Pahoo Village of Pulwama town leaving seven persons injured including the Assistant Sub-Inspector.
 
He further said that the injured were rushed to the hospital where the ASI succumbed.
 
Soon after the incident, police and Army have launched a search operation in the area to nab the attackers.
 
The attack came days before Narender Modi's  visit to Kashmir Valley on Dec 8 to address the election rally in Srinagar.
 
On Dec 9, Pulwama will exercise their votes to elect the representative for their assembly segment.
