Fresh snow and rainfall in Kashmir valley

Srinagar, Mar 8 (IBNS) : The Kashmir valley on Wednesday experienced fresh snowfall in the higher reaches after rains lashed the plains.

The MeT Department has predicted three days of widespread rains and snow in the region.

“Light rainfall lashed Kashmir Valley as many higher reaches including Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Shopian, Jawaha Tunnel, Amarnath Cave and Sonamarg receive fresh snowfall”, Director MeT Sonam Lotus told India Blooms in
Srinagar.

Widespread rain and snow are likely to occur in many places of the state for  the next three days starting Wednesday, the Director added

Central Kashmir’s Upper reaches of Ganderbal district, including the tourist resort of Sonamarg, have been witnessing fresh snowfall since Tuesday afternoon.

Reports said that Sonamarg received more than 1ft snow since Tuesday.
