French Foreign Minister to visit India

New Delhi, June 27 (IBNS): Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development of France Laurent Fabius will be on an official visit to India from June 30.

He will be visiting Indian from June 30 to July 1.

This would be his second visit to India.

Fabius accompaniedPresident Hollande during his State visit to India in February, 2013.

"During his stay in New Delhi, the Foreign Minister will hold talks with External Affairs Minister, Smt. Sushma Swaraj. Both sides will discuss bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest. Mr. Fabius will also be calling on Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Defence & Finance Minister, Shri Arun Jaitley. A number of other engagements are envisaged during the visit," the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement.

"India and France share a warm and friendly bilateral relationship. The two countries share common perspectives on a wide variety of issues in the global arena. The visit of the French Foreign Minister will provide an opportunity for both sides to further strengthen the Indo-French partnership," it said.

Fabius will be accompanied by an official delegation.

He will also visit Mumbai along with his delegation.
