Four-storey building collapse in west Delhi kills 5, President mourns

New Delhi, July 19 (IBNS): President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday condoled the loss of lives due to collapse of a building on Saturday in West Delhi’s Vishnu Garden area.

In his message to Najeeb Jung, the Lt. Governor of NCT of Delhi, the President said “I am saddened to learn about the collapse of a building yesterday in West Delhi’s Vishnu Garden in which some persons have lost their lives and many others are injured."

"I call upon concerned authorities to provide all possible aid to the bereaved families, who have lost their near and dear ones as well as medical assistance to the injured," Mukherjee said.

"Please convey my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. I wish speedy recovery to the injured persons," he said.

At least five people have died and many injured after a four-storey building collapsed in west Delhi's Vishnu Garden area on Saturday.

The building reportedly collapsed around 8.40 PM.
