Four dies, 2 hurt as ambulance rams into stationary lorry

Anantapur, Mar 19 (UNI) Four persons were killed and two others injured, one of them very critically, when an ambulance in which they were travelling rammed into a stationary lorry at Pedavaduguru village on National Highway-44 in this district on Tuesday.

Sub-Inspector of Police Ramesh Reddy said the deceased, who are farmers, came from Narasaraopet town in Guntur district by train and alighted in Dhone Railway Station. Later they boarded the ambulance to go to Anantapur.

The ambulance was coming back to Anantapur after admitting a patient in Kurnool government hospital.

All the four were killed instantaneously.

The deceased were yet to be identified.

The injured persons were shifted to the government general hospital in Gutti where the condition of one of them is said to be very critical, the SI added.
