Food doesn't have a religion: Zomato tells man who cancelled order for 'non-Hindu rider'

New Delhi, July 31 (IBNS): Religion happened to be a reason enough for a professional with an MBA degree to cancel an order placed with Zomato, an Indian restaurant search and discovery service which also delivers food.

A person named Amit Shukla took to Twitter on Tuesday to say that he had cancelled an order which was placed with Zomato for allocating a "non-Hindu rider". Not bothering the refund, Amit just wanted the order to be cancelled.

"Just cancelled an order on @ZomatoIN they allocated a non hindu rider for my food they said they can't change rider and can't refund on cancellation I said you can't force me to take a delivery I don't want don't refund just cancel" Amit, whose Twitter bio reads 'nationalist proud Hindu', wrote on Twitter.

In reply, Zomato said, "Food doesn’t have a religion. It is a religion."

From some other comments, it can be learnt that Amit denied to take the meal from a Muslim man because it was Shraavana, the fifth month of the Hindu calendar.
