Food and fuel supply to Tripura hampered by flood-hit road damages
Agartala, Jul 4 (IBNS): Tripura government has rationed the sale of fuel as oil tankers are stuck along the state's border with Assam, media reported on Monday.
Tripura is also facing shortage of food, medical supplies and other essential commodities as trucks remain stranded along the state's border.
The media quoting Tripura's State Minister of Food and Civil Supplies, Bhanu Lal Saha said that a long stretch of the National Highway 8 near the Assam-Tripura border -- in Karimganj district of Assam -- is badly damaged, which is preventing trucks and oil tankers from entering the state.
Tripura government is trying to ease the situation by re-directing the trucks through an alternative route through Kathaltali of Assam.
