New Delhi, Mar 17 (IBNS): Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni who is currently playing the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Jharkhand, along with his team mates escaped a fire outbreak at team hotel in Dwarka early in the morning on Friday.

The semi final of the tournament between Jharkhand and Bengal was scheduled to begin on Friday though it has been postponed to Saturday considering the frame of mind of the players.

According to media reports, around 540 people were present at the ITC Welcome during the time of fire outbreak.

Jharkhand skipper and his team mates were having breakfast when they were evacuated from the team hotel.

"Yes, it was scary as a fire broke out early in the morning. We were evacuated and brought to the ground," Jharkhand coach Rajeev Kumar was quoted as saying in media reports.

Police informed that fire broke out at Reliance store in first floor while Jharkhand players recided between seventh and ninth floors.

Though players from both the teams were present on the field, due to the lack of kit bags and disturbed state of mind, the match had been postponed to Saturday.

The BCCI later confirmed that all players and match officials were unhurt and safe. The semi-final, which was to be held on Friday at the Airforce Complex ground, Palam in New Delhi will take place at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Saturday.
