Eleven-year-old dies after cop sets her on fire

Indore, Madhya Pradesh Jan 31 (IBNS) In a shocking incident, an 11-year-old girl, who was allegedly set on fire by a policeman died here on Saturday ending her battle for life.
Police said the accused was the neighbour of the victim's family.
 
The girl, Yasmin Khan, had reportedly taken constable Prakash Jaroliya's bicycle without his permission to take a ride on Thursday
 
Enraged at this, Jaroliya first thrashed the girl and and took her inside his home. Reports quoting eyewitness accounts said a few minutes later, Yasmin came rushing out of the house with her body in flames.
 
She was admitted to hospital  with 100 per cent burns and succumbed to her injuries on Saturday.


The girl's family has alleged that the constable had poured kerosene on Yasmin and then set her on fire.

"I was not at home when this happened. When I came back, I came to know that Prakash beat up my daughter for riding his bicycle without permission. People told me that Prakash then took Yasmin to his home and set her on fire.He must be punished," Yasmin's mother Rehana said.
 
The constable and his family fled away after the incident.

Police is investigating the case, but no FIR has been registered so far.
