Chennai/UNI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has said a resolution will be adopted in the State Assembly urging the Centre to repeal the three farm laws.

In a statement here, he said as promised in the DMK's election manifesto, a resolution will be adopted in the State Assembly urging the Centre to enact a new law withdrawing the three Farm laws in toto.

Accepting the genuine demands of the farmers, whose protests marked the completion of six months today, the DMK will take steps to fulfill its promise made in the manifesto.

"Today marked the completion of six months since the farmers began their protests against the Farm Laws passed by the Centre," he added.

"The Union government is not ready to withdraw the laws and is also not ready to hold constructive talks with the farmers to resolve the issue and arrive at an amicable solution," he said.

Meanwhile, various farmers unions and organisations protesting against the three farm laws have decided to observe a nationwide ‘Black Day’ today by hoisting black flags at protest sites at Delhi borders and many places across the country.

In Tamil Nadu too some farmers organisations, including the one headed by P R Pandian decided to hoist black flags to mark the occasion.
