Delhi University prof held for Maoists links
New Delhi, May 9 (IBNS): The Maharashtra Police on Friday arrested Delhi University professor GN Saibaba for having alleged links with Maoists, media reports said.
The team of police who arrested wheelchair bound English professor belongs to Maharashtra's Maoist-affected Gadchiroli district.
According to media reports, the professor was in touch with the Maoists for long.
Saibaba had been questioned in January by a police team and he was confronted with evidence from his computer, that was seized during raids.
The professor's name came to the fore after the arrests of two alleged Maoist sympathisers, Hem Mishra and Prashant Rahi, in December.
Both had reportedly claimed that Saibaba was their main contact and based on their information, the police seized the professor's computer.
