Delhi excise policy case: CBI arrests Hyderabad-based CA

New Delhi/UNI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Hyderabad based Chartered Accountant, Butchibabu Gorantla, in connection with alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy case, the Central probe agency said on Wednesday.

"In the ongoing investigation in the Delhi Excise Policy case, CBI has arrested a Hyderabad based CA Butchibabu Gorantla for his alleged role in formulation and implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy and thereby causing alleged wrongful gain to Hyderabad-based wholesale and retail licensees and their beneficial owners under the Delhi Excise Policy for the year 2021-22," CBI said.

He will be produced in the court today, CBI added.
