New Delhi, Jan 12 (IBNS): The Election Commission on Monday announced that voting for the Assembly polls in Delhi will be held on Feb 7.

Counting of votes will be held on Feb 10.

"The date of  Delhi Assembly elections is February 7," Chief Election Commissioner VS Sampath said while addressing a press conference here.

He said: "Model Code of conduct comes into immediate effect in Delhi."

Last year, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal resigned on Feb 14 after remaining in power for 49 days.

The Delhi Assembly was dissolved in November last year when neither of the three major parties- the BJP, the Congress, and AAP - could said they could form a government.
