Delhi : AAP-BJP meeting at Arvind Kejriwal's residence ends in chaso, BJP alleges heckling

New Delhi, Jan 30 (IBNS) : A meeting called by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to find a solution to the controversial sealing drive in Delhi  fell flat amid a chaos on Tuesday  as a team of BJP leaders walked out and  alleged that they had been "heckled and attacked".

According to media reports, the  meeting barely lasted ten minutes before BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari and his delegation walked out of Kejriwal's house, where it was convened.

Three BJP MPs, three legislators and two Mayors had come for the meeting with Mr Kejriwal and AAP lawmakers.

Police, who escorted the BJP leaders from the area, also got into a scuffle with several protestors from AAP who were chanting slogans.

Television visuals showed jostling and slogan-shouting as the BJP leaders left the Chief Minister's residence, cutting through a large crowd. "

The BJP said it "strongly condemned the planned attempt to heckle and attack by the Chief Minister's supporters".

Kejriwal and other AAP leaders, however, denied the allegation, saying the  BJP leaders "walked out" in the middle of the meeting objecting to the presence of the media.

AAP MLA Jarnail Singh said, "They had come to CMs house for mere drama. They are politicising the issue and do not wish to find a resolution. This was just a photo opportunity for them.”

After the aborted meeting, the Chief Minister told reporters that his government would appeal to the Supreme Court for a temporary ban on the sealing. "I am sad that this meeting could not take place. We will go to the Supreme Court with a petition. We also want the sealing to stop," Mr Kejriwal said.
