COVID-19 cases in West Bengal cross 14,000-mark, discharge rate reaches 60.50 per cent

Kolkata/IBNS: With 413 new infections reported in the last 24 hours, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in West Bengal has mounted to 14358, including 5102 active ones, 569 deaths and 8687 discharges, officials said on Monday.

According to a bulletin issued by Bengal health and family welfare department, 390 Covid-19 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 8687 with a discharge rate of 60.50 per cent.

The bulletin stated that with 14 fatalities reported in the last 24 hours, Covid-19 death toll in West Bengal has reached 569.

West Bengal has tested 4,10,854 samples till date, with 9363 tests conducted in 49 testing facilities across the state in the last 24 hours, reports said.

Currently, 8827 persons are kept in government quarantine centres and 1,33,391 people are under home surveillance in the state.
