Court orders FIR against Giriraj Singh for comment on Sonia

Patna, Apr 2(IBNS) A Bihar court has orders an FIR against Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party MP Giriraj Singh for his comments on Congress President Sonia Gandhi's skin colour.

The Muzzaffarpur Chief Judicial Magistrate court has ordered police to register the FIR after a local Congress worker filed a petition against Singh for his racist comment.

Singh had said that if late prime minister Rajiv Gandhi had married a Nigerian women, she would not have become the Congress president because she would not have been white-skinned like Sonia Gandhi.

This triggered a massive outcry from the leaders of Congress and other parties.

Sonia Gandi, however,  refused to comment on Singh's remarks.

"I feel that I should not make a comment on people with narrow mindset," she  told reporters.

Though Singh later regretted over his comment, protests and criticism continued condemning his comment.
