Countdown of Trinamool regime in Bengal has begun: Amit Shah

| | Nov 30, 2014, at 10:57 pm
Kolkata, Nov 30 (IBNS): Taking on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in her own bastion, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah on Sunday in a rally here slammed the Trinamool Congress chief, accusing her of saving the architects of the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam and proving shelter to Bangladeshi infiltrators engaged in making bombs for spreading Jihadi terror.

Shah said the countdown of the Mamata government has begun as the BJP touted the rally of Sunday as the rise of the party in West Bengal. He said the goal of Narendra Modi is not only to have Congress free India, but also Trinamool Congress free West Bengal.

Acknowledging the huge gathering of people in front of the famous Victoria House in the heart of the city, where the party got permission to hold rally after a legal battle, Shah said Banerjee can reduce the platform of his rally by design, but cannot minimise the love of the people for his party who are joining BJP in hordes.

"Didi you can minimise the measurement of the dias for our rally but can you throw away the love for BJP from the heart of people?" Shah asked.

"The huge crowd shows that days are numbered for the Trinamool Congress government in the state," Shah claimed at the rally. "The countdown has begun," he said.

He said the government promised development before coming to power, but even after three and half years, the state remains in the same condition.

Hitting out at the Saradha chit fund scam that he claimed affected 17 lakh people in the state, Shah said: "Mamata Didi, you are sending your legislators to Parliament to raise their voices over black money issue. But then why are you saving the Saradha scamsters. Why is she not protesting now like Singur movement when she resorted to hungerstrike?"

"Now Mamata Di says CBI is framing TMC people, but can you declare they are innocent? I challenge Mamata Di that you say for once that the persons CBI arrested are innocent," the BJP chief said. He said the money of Saradha scam was also used in Burdwan blast conspiracy.

He said Banerjee should answer who bought her paintings, why was the Shymal Sen Commission on the Saradha scam not allowed to work.

"Who buys your painting? Why did you close the Shyamal Sen Commission?" he asked.

"Now Mamata is out to save Saradha accused," Shah said.

He also accused Banerjee of saving the alleged terrorists responsible for the Burdwan bomb blast of Oct 2. He said Banerjee is opposed to NIA probe in the Burdwan blasts.

"Why do you want to save the Bangladeshi infiltrators when people of West Bengal voted you to power," she asked.

"She started vote bank politics. She is protecting the Burdwan blast accused. You are objecting to NIA probe? Who made you CM of Bengal? The people of Bengal or Bangladeshi infiltrators? You have to answer all these," Shah said.

"Mamata Di will have to answer who are there involved from her party in the Burdwan blast," he added.

Shah said Banerjee can do vote bank politics but she cannot not make national borders vulnerable and pose threat to the nation.

"I appeal to Mamata Di that you can conduct your vote bank politics but not at the cost of the security measures of India," he said.

"Even Bangladesh people do not support those who you support," he added.

He said the "If Modiji (Prime minister Narendra Modi) wants to develop Bengal, Mamata Di will oppose."

"Bengal has a pool of talents but lacks a leader," Shah said appealing to the people to vote for his party in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation election in May earlier next year.

"I appeal people of Bengal to add the state to national progress by choosing BJP. BJP is winning everywhere. BJP should be in power in Bengal too and make Bengal TMC free," said he.

Besides Shah several senior BJP leaders addressed the rally.

BJP leader and its West Bengal in-charge Siddharth Nath Singh directly attacked Mamata Banerjee over the chit fund scam.

"Kunal is in jail. Tumpai is in jail. Now who is next?" he shouted targetting at the chief minister.

Mamata had given the slogan of Ma, Mati and Manish which became Mamata, Mukul and Madan

"In 2016 it will be Bhag Mamta Bhag [Run, Mamata run]

Junior Union Minister Babul Supriyo, who won the Lok Sabha election from Asansol, said they would uproot Trinamool Congress from the state in 2016.

"Trinnamool Congress will be Nirmool [meaning wiped out] Congress," he screamed, even sang a few lines of a popular Bengali film song to describe the air of positivity.

West Bengal BJP chief Rahul Sinha also spoke, attacking the chief minister virulently for trying to foil their rally at the venue by not granting it permission and then promising to hold a bigger rally in the iconic Brigade Parade Ground next for Amit Shah.
