Rajkot, July 16 (UNI): A 48-year-old man, who was sentenced to 10 years in jail for raping a minor girl, has again been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and raping her while on bail.

According to police, Bhagwanji L. Rathod, resident of Chamundanagar in Malviya Nagar police station area of the city, had kidnapped and raped a 15-year-old girl in 2015 and was awarded 10 years jail term by a POCSO court the same year.

He was granted bail by the high court last year. In January this year he again kidnapped the girl and raped her.

The accused had allegedly threatened the girl, who was now 19, that he would kill her father and brother if she opened her mouth. Now for the past few days, when he started moving around her residence, she spoke about the incident.

He had also pressurised the girl and asked her to get married to him so that the earlier case against him could end.

Police have again arrested him under section 366, 376 and 506 of the IPC.
