New Delhi, Jan 14 (IBNS): As Prime Minister Narendra Modi tried to give Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a warm welcome by visiting the airport, the opposition Congress attacked him for his ‘hugplomacy’.

The Congress created a meme video  which showed the Prime Minister hugging different world leaders.

The video has been posted on the official Twitter page of the Congress.

Posting the video, the Congress tweeted: "With Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu visiting India, we look forward to more hugs from PM Modi! #Hugplomacy."

The video has been posted by the Congress on a day when Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited India.

Modi welcomed him in the airport with a hug.

Benjamin Netanyahu called Modi his 'good friend'.

"We have landed in India. Thank you to my good friend Narendra Modi for the warm welcome!," the visiting PM tweeted.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday welcomed Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to India by receiving him at the airport.

Welcoming Netanyahu, Modi said the visit is a historic one.

"Welcome to India, my friend PM @netanyahu! Your visit to India is historic and special. It will further cement the close friendship between our nations. @IsraeliPM #ShalomNamaste," Modi tweeted.

Netanyahu is on a 6-day visit to India.
