New Delhi, June 28 (IBNS) Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Sunday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for remaining silent on the controversy surrounding former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi.

" PM identifies himself as a world leader, talks about the world, did he write a letter to bring back Lalit Modi to India?" Azad said while addressing a press conference here.

Referring to Naredra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' radio address, the former Union Minister said: "PM believes in only selling dreams, but no action. We are disappointed that the PM did not spoke about the ModiGate on MannKiBaat."

He said the Congress is requesting Narendra Modi to bring back black money to India.

"The biggest promise PM Modi made was to bring back black money to India, we request the PM to keep its promise," he said.

Narendra Modi on Sunday stayed away from the recent political controversies during his monthly 'Mann Ki Baat' address, and focused on women related issues, while urging for their empowerment.

He said for this year's Raksha Bandhan, brothers should do something special for their sisters and make them more empowered.

The BJP government at the Centre is hit by a controversy which involve the names of External Affairs Minister  Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje for allegedly helping former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi's  application for immigration to the UK in 2011.

Since the news came to surface, Oppositions are demanding the resignation of the two BJP bigwigs from their respective posts.

Lalit Modi on Saturday alleged that Chennai Super Kings players Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo and Suresh Raina  were involved in IPL betting.
