Bangarapet, May 9 (IBNS): Launching an all-out attack against the Congress party in poll-bound Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the country's oldest political outfit demeaned the pride of the state and looted democracy in five years of rule.

Addressing a rally in Bangarapet, Modi said: "Within five years (of rule), Congress ruined the pride of the state and looted democracy."

Modi said the 6Cs of Congress- culture, communalism, casteism, crime, corruption and contracts- have ruined Karnataka in five years.

The PM has renewed his attack against the Congress over corruption issue on Wednesday.

Modi has accused the Congress party of taking people for granted. He said: "Whenever Congress gets an opportunity to rule, they think people have given them a contract to do wrong things and betray people who voted them to power.

"Whenever Congress rules, corrupt people prospers. While under the BJP's rule, these corrupt people get restricted."

Taking a dig at 10-year rule of Congress at the Centre under Dr. Manmohan Singh, Modi said: "Though Manmohan Singh was the PM, he was controlled by the Congress party.

"We also have a remote control but it is present with 150 crore people of India. Our high command is people."

The poll is scheduled to be held on May 12. The poll results will be out three days later on May 15.

Karnataka is one of the last few states which are ruled by the Congress.

BJP, under the leadership of former Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, is eyeing on to return to power.
