Congress constitutes screening committees for three North East states ahead of assembly polls next year

New Delhi/UNI: The Congress on Wednesday constituted screening committees for the forthcoming Assembly elections in Tripura, Meghalaya, and Nagaland.New Delhi/UNI: The Congress on Wednesday constituted screening committees for the forthcoming Assembly elections in Tripura, Meghalaya, and Nagaland.

According to a communique issued by the Congress general secretary in-charge KC Venugopal, the party appointed MP Gaurav Gogoi as the chairman of the screening committee of Meghalaya, Mohan Prakash for Nagaland and Deepa Dasmunsi for Tripura.

In the panels constituted for the three North Eastern states also include members and ex-officio members, as per the statement.

Assembly elections in Meghalaya, Tripura, and Nagaland are likely to be held early next year.
