Cong focus shifted from Rahul to Priyanka: Jaitley

| | May 03, 2014, at 12:02 am
New Delhi, May 2 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader Arun Jaitley on Friday mocked the Congress's election campaign and said the focus has now shifted from party vice president Rahul Gandhi to the sister (Priyanka Gandhi).
"The eclipse of Rahul Gandhi as the de facto Prime Ministerial candidate of Congress is virtually complete. When he was not seen as being able to deliver, the mother stepped in. The focus has now shifted to the sister," Jaitley wrote in his 'campaign diary' which he posted on his website.

He said Priyanka Gandhi has "robbed" his brother's position from limelight.

"Ostensibly intended to attack Narender Modi daily in somewhat impolite language, the sister has succeeded in robbing the brother from being in the limelight. Attack Modi was the strategy but ‘dilute Rahul’ is the consequence. Kahin pe nigahen, kahin pe nishana. Having pushed the brother out of the frame the sister has to realize that there is much more in politics and the country than only ‘our family’," his post said.

This comes with Priyanka launching scathing attacks on BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi recently.

Priyanka is not contesting the Lok Sabha elections but is managing the campaigns of Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
