Cleanliness drive in Punjab to mark International Women's Day

Chandigarh, Mar 8 (UNI) The Punjab State Social Welfare Board organised Swachh Bharat Abhiyan with active participation of the staff in the office led by Chairperson Gursharan Kaur Randhawa on International Women’s Day today.
The celebration started with a motivational speech by Gursharan Kaur Randhawa. After that, all staff members took pledge on cleanliness and a drive was also launched aimed at cleaning the premises of the office.

The Chairperson appreciated the cleanliness work done by the staff members and emphasized on their cooperation in keeping the office premises spotlessly tidy.

Randhawa also planted trees near the office premises. She elaborated that today, the world is facing environmental problems and global warming, ozone depletion and pollution are burning issues and the lies in planting more trees. She also apprised that trees and plants are the prime source of environmental purification and beautification as trees inhale carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen, reduce temperature and create a healthy effect, both physically and psychologically, on human beings.

She appealed to everyone to become a part of this campaign and contribute their efforts to make the drive a big success.
