CBI used as tool by BJP govt: Mamata
New Delhi, Dec 18 (IBNS): Hitting out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is now in the national capital, on Thursday said the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is used as a political "tool" by the government.
"CBI is acting as government's tool. The government has set a political vendetta against the TMC," Banerjee told reporters outside the Parliament in the wake of her cabinet minister Madan Mitra's arrest by the central probe agency.
She said the Centre is attacking her party as "TMC is the only party fighting a battle against BJP."
She said the BJP government is jealous and wants her party to be bulldozed.
Banerjee also alleged that CBI is a "department of the PMO."
The WB CM is in Delhi to meet the President Pranab Mukherjee following the recent surgery on him.
She has all the way maintained that West Bengal Transport and Sports Minister Madan Mitra is innocent and her party has no role in the scam.
After questioning him for 5 hours, the CBI arrested Madan Mitra last Friday in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam.
