CBI summons Bengali film actor, MP Dev in cattle smuggling case

| @indiablooms | Feb 09, 2022, at 11:30 pm

Kolkata/IBNS: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned actor-turned-TMC MP Dev in connection with its ongoing probe into a cattle smuggling case, officials said.

According to sources in the Central probe agency, CBI has served a notice to the MP from West Medinipur's Ghatal LS constituency.

Officials said Dev has been asked to appear before CBI investigators in Kolkata's Nizam Palace on Feb 15.

CBI sources said several witnesses in the case, during interrogation, mentioned Dev's name and the officers have decided to quiz the actor-producer after finding 'some evidence' in this regard.

However, no reaction has been received from the Bengali actor yet.

Besides CBI, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is also probing the Bengal-based multi-crore cattle smuggling racket operating on the Indo-Bangladesh border.
