CBI quizzes West Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee for 3.5 hours in alleged school recruitment scam

Kolkata: West Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee was on Wednesday quizzed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for 3.5 hours in connection with the alleged government-aided school recruitment scam.

He appeared before the CBI at Kolkata's Nizam Palace at 5.45 PM and left the same after 9.30 PM on Wednesday.

After leaving the CBI office, his convoy drove to his party office in Behala.

The development came after the division bench of the Calcutta High court did not pass any order on the single bench directive to the minister to depose before the federal agency by 6 PM in the alleged recruitment scam in the government-aided schools across the state.

Former education minister Chatterjee ( now IT and Industries minister) had approached the division bench of Justice Harish Tandon.

The division bench earlier in the day said the matter (case) was not filed properly by the applicant (Partha Chatterjee) and asked him to appear before the CBI by 6 pm as per the single bench order.
