Case filed against Max Hospital that declared living baby dead
New Delhi, Dec 2 (IBNS): A case has been registered against Max Hospital, that declared a living baby dead, over medical negligence, media reports said.
The case has been registered under section 308 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Parents, who were handed over 'dead' twins by Max hospital in Delhi in plastic bags, found one of the two babies still breathing when the family were on the way to the burial ground.
The hospital had reportedly handed over the twins, wrapped in plastic bags, to the parents through the backdoor.
Later, when the parents were heading towards the burial ground, found one of the bags to have slight movement.
After ripping off the wrapper, the parents found the baby to be still alive.
They had rushed to Max hospital where the child is presently on ventilator.
Max Healthcare said the doctor responsible for the action has been sent on leave.
A protest had broken out in the hospital following the incident.
The incident has been termed as "heartbreaking" by Union Health Minister JP Nadda.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted to say: "Enquiry ordered. Strongest action wud be taken if found guilty."
